Holding Onto Fall
Every year as we get closer and closer to the season of Fall, I begin to anticipate how fast it will fly by. Because it is my favorite season, I want it to last as long as possible. I was thinking a bit about this recently and realize that the holidays help make the season shorter.
Think about it! Fall starts around September 20 and Thanksgiving usually lands on the third or so week in November.
Summer begins mid-June and lasts until mid-September; approximately 93 days of summer. Realistically there is approximately the same number of days for each season but Fall seems to come to an abrupt stop when the holidays start with Thanksgiving. That means “Fall” lasts about 60 days before the holidays. No wonder it seems like Fall is over so soon after it starts!
I mean, once Thanksgiving weekend comes and goes everyone is all about getting ready for Christmas. It no longer feels like Fall.
HOWEVER, this year my goal is going to be to keep Fall alive until December 21! To meet this goal this means I will not decorate for Christmas until that day.
I wonder if I can do it. I will come back and update everyone. Wish me luck!
