What is your Holman?
We often hear ourselves, or others, talk about having a happy place. We can feel and see the joy in the words. I was thinking about this phrase, “My Happy Place” recently. My happy place has always been “Holman.” For me, the question makes more sense to say, “What is your Holman?”
It’s that place that brings peace. It’s the place we can run away to when life is stressful or busy. Your Holman can be a nearby park, or your own backyard. It does not have to be a destination.
My Holman inspired me to write, to let my emotions and creativity loose, to let go of the things in my every day that I need a break from. Writing and Holman, they go so well together.
I heard a new mom talking about her daily jogs being how she got through her day. She even commented that all new moms should be runners because of how much it helped her get through the day. Running is her Holman.
I cannot physically get to my Holman every day, but I can take a minute, close my eyes and imagine myself there. Anything to get to that sense of peacefulness.
Finding our Holman in life is one of life’s greatest blessings, and pleasures.
