Turning 60! Say, What?
To be direct and honest, I’m shocked to be turning 60 this month! These kinds of numbers always sounded so far away, but here we are! My husband, Vernon, turned 60 last February, and he survived, so I figure I will too, and I truly do not feel old.
For most of my adult life I have kept up with movement and exercise. Wearing a fitness tracker has helped keep me focused on what I am doing, and if I sit too long, it lets me know! As I write this blog, my activity ring tells me I have closed that ring 350 days in a row, and, YES, I am shooting for 365 days! I love being up and active, moving through life, doing my two favorite workouts: Nia Dance and Yoga.
As I age, I see my family growing and changing. My children aren’t children, and they have their own children who don’t seem to slow down in the growth area either! I am super proud of each of them and all that they do! Life is so very good!
Through the years I have had personal career goals and several ups and downs along the way. But, in the long run, I have learned so much and am finally at a place where I feel very satisfied and even a little proud of my accomplishments. I always wondered if I would get to this point. I have been very driven in my career, focused on advancing and I worked hard to reach management level.
I find myself now thinking more about retirement and closing out my professional career, which led me to becoming a coach. I have felt led to help others reach their goals, whether that be a professional or a personal goal. The setbacks can be so hard, even to the point of wanting to give up.
I hope you don’t give up. I am so very glad I didn’t!
With a career comes all kinds of emotions as well as learning how to balance work and everything else in life. These are great coaching topics.
I would love to be a part of your coaching needs!
So, I will keep working in my career with different goals than I have had before. Now I am thinking about things like traveling, spending more time with family, granddaughters, having A LOT less daily stress, and continuing to enjoy every day life along the way.
