Fall

Like so many people say every year at this time, “Fall is my favorite season of the year!” Who could NOT love Fall?

It’s colorful! It’s finally cooler after a hot summer! It’s like a breath of fresh air after a cool rain that lasts for several weeks. In Albuquerque we usually see signs of fall in early September, then it gets hot again and then cool, and then hot...... but if you drive through any of the NM mountains, you are reminded it’s getting closer to Fall.

One of my favorite weekends of the year is Labor Day weekend. My husband, Vernon and I spend this weekend up in northern NM at family property. Each year I am more and more blown away by the wildflowers that seem to get more beautiful as the years go by. It’s my first glimpse that Fall is coming and it’s my favorite!

Once it’s truly Fall, we see changing colors and falling leaves. I find fall colors mesmerizing and a beautiful contrast to summer colors.

The other amazing part of Fall in Albuquerque is seeing hot air balloons scattered throughout the sky, especially in the first full week of October!

The one negative thing I can think of for Fall is that it comes to end, every single year!
