I’m a “blogger!” I’ve always wanted to say that. The blogs I write here are varied. I write about my own experiences, and I like to put it all out there. In other words, “I like to spill my tea!” Come back often to see what I’m spilling!

My Experience Part IV - Writing Acknowledgments
I expected writing acknowledgments would take a lot of thought and time. The first time I attempted to work on this in my first novel, I realized how very important it would be to me.

Revisited
“Revisited” is the name of our son, Chris Baker’s newest CD that released this month! It’s awesome! I can say that because I’m his mom, yes. But it truly is a work of art! I have had opportunities to work with him on writing songs. It is always an amazing experience, but he blows my mind on how he writes not just the words but the music too!

My Experience Part III - What I’m learning about feedback.
Feedback is a scary part of writing.

Selling My Book
I did it! I mean I have never been a good salesperson. I have had to learn how to promote myself and my writing.

The Paths We Take
Life takes us all on a journey. So many choices, so many options, and so many possible paths. There have been plenty of times when it has been difficult to decide which path to take. Through prayer and dependence on God’s guidance, we have chosen; some good, some questionable, but always with hope.

“Momma’s Cherry Pie”
“She turned to the stove and picked up a fresh baked cherry pie, Izrael’s favorite”

My Experience: Part II
I finished a complete novel! Now what? As I finished editing and re-editing and multiple times editing, I began to wonder if I could publish my book. The answer was a clear, YES, I can, and I did.

My Experience: Part 1
I write long sentences. That was one of my biggest discoveries about my writing, since getting my first book published. I have started working on this since discovering my issue.

2023 Goals
This time of year brings up thoughts of what we want to do in the following year. Setting goals and a “New Year’s Resolution” have become a natural part of my life, and I really enjoy it.

Christmas, Family and a New Year
This time of year, I begin anticipating celebrating the birth of Christ, and spending quality time with family. It’s that time when we gather with those we love most and enjoy being together.

Lipstick and Depression
What do “Lipstick” and “Depression” have to do with each other?
I remember a time talking with someone close to me who was suffering with depression. I found myself offering ideas to help her feel better, to help her want to get out and enjoy even a few precious moments. At one point I suggested she put on some lipstick and go shopping.

Imposter Syndrome
The words “Imposter Syndrome” seem to be used a lot these days. I have seen it in various settings to include coaching dialogues, social media posts and even at my full-time job focused on employee performance.

What I’ve Learned from My Daughter
In celebration of my daughter’s birthday at the end of August, I am blogging (or bragging) about her this month.

How’s Your Mental Fitness?
Mental fitness is an important part of our overall wellness/fitness journeys. So many things can get in the way of mental fitness and staying mentally fit can be challenging with so many kinds of stressors moving in and out of our lives.
With all that life brings, how can we stay mentally fit? These are my opinions only, nothing official about them, but I will share what I do to maintain mental fitness.

She Sparkles
Dancing in a white dress, completely covered in sparkles, holding her shape perfectly. Her smile twinkles from the reflection of the sequins. Her eyes dance in rhythm with her hands and feet, in a Salsa-like pattern.
My hands immediately mimic hers and my feet dance like never before.

(Sometimes) “I Dance with Words”
As music starts, my hands, my feet …, they dance
My arms, my legs,
My hips, my head,
All of me moves
